Arizona Flag runners and supporters...

Please join me in welcoming our new coordinators, Steve Case, Angie Langer, and Kathy Connolly. Steve will be heading off the media and local support groups along the route, Angie is coordinating runners east of Phoenix and Kathy is coordinating the runners west of Phoenix. Please direct specific comments and or requests to them as needed along with keeping up with changes on the web site http://www.flagrun2001.org.

It will help facilitate these coordinators if one member of large groups of runners contact them instead of everyone of the group. We currently have the Arizona Road Runners Club, Luke AFB, and several small groups that want to run longer distances together. With over 200 runners participating, passing the flag around while large groups run together will not only build comradery it will help in the logistics of transversing the state.

Tenative route thru Phoenix will be: From Apache Jct.-west on Main Street to Power Road, north on Power to University, west on University to Mill Ave, north on Mill to Washington, west on Washington to 19th Ave, north on 19th to Grand Ave, north-west on Grand to Camelback, west on Camelback to Litchfield Rd, north on Litchfield to highway (60).
