Nov. 11, 2001 -
My name is Brett Mirly. This morning I got up from bed at 2:00 in the morning and I got to run 1 mile during the Flag Run in the city where I live with my mommy. I carried a small American flag the whole way. Part of the time my Aunt Dusty and her dog Tucker ran with us. My mommy and her friend Ky ran, too with the big American flag that came from Boston, but they ran lots more then I did. And the names of the flight crews that died Sept. 11 were on a pole and Mommy and Ky carried that pole, too. Getting to run and watch everyone else run was fun and exciting. Monrovia Police were there too - LOTS of them! I am proud to be American. God Bless America, everyone!
