What a wonderful experience October 24th-26th was. I have such amazing memories that will stay with me for the rest of my life, as I'm sure most of you do. Louisiana sure did come out in masses to show support for the Flagrun. I hope each of you realize now more than before, how much the American spirit is alive.

As the flag was passed to Texas on Friday, I felt such a sense of pride and patriotism. Each one of you were a vital part in getting the flag across Louisiana. My heart-felt thanks to each of you.

As successful as our turnout was, I must say that our contributions for the area were very low. We succeeded in raising the level of American Spirit, now we must raise money for the families of the victims of September 11th.

I was speaking to Jill Butler on Thursday evening in the wee hours of the morning after she ran her many miles. She mentioned that we should have a get-together of some sort to celebrate a job well done. I agreed whole-heartedly. She has been able to secure a place for us at the Schumpert Wellness Ctr. here in Shreveport. The center is located at 9425 Healthplex Dr. off Bert Kouns across from Home Depot off I-49.

We would like for everybody to be able to attend. We will start at 6pm and visit and share pictures until about 8pm. Everybody has a touching story that gives you such a feeling of pride knowing that you were a reason that the flag continued on.

This is what you will need to bring.......PICTURES!! Bring any pictures that you took and share them with everyone. If you have any video, bring that and we will set up a VCR and watch it together. CONTRIBUTIONS!! Get on the phone and call everyone you know. If you have connections with the city, see if they are willing to donate for the city. Fire Departments, Police Departments and all service groups will be more than willing to take up a collection for our efforts. If companies or organizations would like to come and give a check at the Wellness Center, that would be excellent. We need to raise as much money as possible for the families in need. I found out real quick when I started organizing the state of Louisiana, that we have a lot of resourceful people in the area. Let's all use that to help those in need. Don't forget to mention to them that they can also donate through the website, www.flagrun2001.org, if that is easier for them.

All donations are accepted, and no donation is too small.
