New Mexico Coordinator's Update #1
Information update no. 1 October 13, 2001.

  1. General Information for New Mexico

    Greetings to all the people who have volunteered to be apart of the AAmerican/United Flag run in New Mexico13, 2001. I will be using this information page to provide you the latest data for the run through New Mexico.

    If you wish to be a part of the New Mexico effort, please go to the official Flag Run web site, www.flagrun2001.org and register using the instructions provided. This will give us a record of your interest and make our coordination efforts easier.

  2. Flag Run route through New Mexico.

    US 60 Texico to Willard, NM 41 Willard to Moriarty, OldRoute 66 Moriarty to Albuquerque. Route through Albuquerque being coordinated, Albuquerque NM47 to NM 304 (east ofBelen), NM 304 to US 60, US 60 to I-25(Bernardo), I-25 to Socorro, US 60 Socorro to Arizona border.

    The total running distance is 461 miles. The National Coordinators have given us109.5 hours to run through New Mexico and remain on the schedule to have the flagarrive in Los Angles on November 11. The flag will arrive at Texico at 1630 on November 1, enter Albuquerque around 060 November 4 and exit the state at 0600 on November 6.

  3. Runners Information.

    The runner coordinator is Laurie Cummings(Lcumm80@aol.com). She is organizingthe running teams and will contact all runners. If you wish to run together with another person, please let Laurie know.

  4. Other Volunteer Information.

    If you wish to participate, but not run, please contact DeeFriesen (friesend@aol.com) or Dusty Steedman (dmirly@dellpro.com). We are in great need of transportation assistance.
