Virginia Diary: Lindsey Carty

My name is Lindsey and I am ten years old. I ran with my dad (an American Airlines pilot), mom and sister and about 12 others across the Falmouth Bridge going into Fredericksburg. It was very loud as traffic was stopped. People were honking their horns and clapping. A lot of people were taking pictures. I carried the flag for a while as we crossed the bridge. My sister and I ran close to two miles with the other runners. We even made the front page of the paper the following day. I felt very proud when I carried the flag. I won't ever forget running with the Flag.
